Next Week or La Semaine Prochaine

On The Calendar For The Week Ahead

In no particular order:

News, Views, This & That

Fidelity & L'Amour (A newly hot topic in France -- I'll explain)

More Installments in the "I Would If I Could" shopping series.

A Mini Fashion Prediction -- within every budget, for every age.

On-the-street photos (or inside the stores photos where women are not wearing coats).

A Weekend In The Country.

Can you believe we're almost in December? Time flies when I'm having fun -- with you.

A teensy confession (which is embarrassing for me to even admit, but we're among friends): When I see a new follower sign on for the ride, it absolutely makes my day. I'm always thrilled. Then, when I wake up another day and see one (or two this time) have left me, it makes me feel terrible, as if I've let someone down. So, I would simply like to say, "Thank you for the former and I'm sorry for the latter."

A demain.

Hi Tish:). You are not alone in the follower thing. Or comments. Or any other sort of Internet hellos. I have learned to say to myself, "For all I know they are moving to Turkmenistan and will therefore only be reading matter pertaining to that geography." It may of course be that they have moved beyond my natterings for other reasons, but it's easier to use the Turkmenistan excuse.

We are the same way over at our blog. Long, long telephone conversations with my colleagues about what we could possibly have done to lose a single follower. Oy.

But here's exciting news. A follower just pointed out to us that people can follow us in multiple ways: in Bloglovin' (I know we signed up but I have no idea what this means) and in Google Reader (no clue what this is). So I prefer to imagine that followers migrate to the following technology of their choice. Because it couldn't possibly be moi. Or vous (are we at tu, yet?).

Well Tish, I think the consensus is that we all love bloggers who comment and follow. And those who UNfollow - if they only knew the sorrow.

Looks like a great week ahead.

There are many reasons why followers follow. Some may have felt a specific post was the kind of thing they wanted to see and found after reading more, the rest is not what they are interested in. I would not loose sleep over it. I would much rather have followers who are there because they really are hooked even if it's only a few. Just like real friends. I'll never leave you... promis!

Is there a way to unfollow blogs. There are a few (not this one of course) that I would like to stop following. I haven't figured out how to unfollow yet.

Honestly, I don't know if I'm a follower or not. I do visit your page nearly every day. I don't have it delivered to my email, though. There are probably many of us who have simply added your blog to our bookmarks menu and click on it regularly - would you know about us when we do this?

Hi Tish...If it's any consolation at all I adore reading your blog. I haven't read a post yet that has bored me...or failed to thoroughly entertain me, educate my mind or make me smile. I hope you won't dwell on these unfollowers too much. LPC's theory sounds about right!

I know how you feel. I really should unfollow some blogs that I never look at anymore, but I don't want the blogger to feel bad!

I don't know how to 'follow' but I read you blog every day, and so does my sister (who lives thousands of miles away). Then we email each other to discuss what you've said. You're terrific.
I've discovered Repettos thanks to you.
Now, get back to avenue Victor Hugo and get snapping.

I'm with Marsha and Villette. What the heck do you mean when you say "follow"? Can we regular reader be more supportive by doing something else? 'Cause we'll do it.

I'm not signed up as a follower - but I read you every single day. I don't 'follow' anyone, if that helps at all - but I sure spend hours reading blogs!

You are all so wonderful.

Marsha, I have no idea how one has something delivered to another's mailbox, I know NOTHING about tech questions, solutions or innovations. It's a miracle I can get this blog out every day.

By extension, that means I do not know how to un-follow anyone either and I can tell you, there is one I would really like to unfollow, but c'est la vie.

Also agree, with that one exception, I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings. It's probably the same reason why I accepted "friends" on Facebook I barely know and don't care if they had ice cream for dessert. It's been months since I've checked out what's going on over there.

Again, you have no idea the joy you bring into my life and a thank you is not enough. It will have to do until I win the lottery and send out gifts to all of you. . .

xo, Tish
